A Link to History: Of historical interest, our field is 3.75 miles from the location where the Wright Brothers Bicycle Complex (22 S. Williams Street) and the Wright Brothers Cycle Shop (1127 W. Third Street) were originally located. These buildings comprise the site where the first practical heavier-than-air plane was developed and constructed from around 1900 through the first flight on December 17th, 1903.
